John Fetterman is a Hopeless Disappointment

I really thought I’d like this guy. He seemed pretty common sense when he ran. But then, when he was elected, he immediately started to show his true colors. First, he didn’t want to wear a suit, but rather wanted to keep his Gen X “Hoodie and shorts”, “style”, on the floor of the U.S. Senate. This was his first tell. He did not understand why he was supposed to wear a suit. Spoiler, it’s because he wasn’t John Fetterman U.S. citizen any more. He had become the elected representative of the good people of Pennsylvania. You wear the suit to dignify THEM and the job to which you have had the honor of being elected. The reason a Judge wears a robe. It is a symbol of the office. Not a glorification of the individual. This lack of understanding showed Fetterman had no intention of representing his constituents. He was there for himself.

The next problem was his stroke. He should have stepped down. It was clear that he had been impaired. Again, his constituents deserved a Senator who was firing on all cylinders. But his desires superseded their needs. He voted to reopen the government during the last long shutdown. Even though his fellow Democrats demands were fair and reasonable. Being a maverick in your party is great when you’re right and they’re wrong. John McCain was very good at it. But he was a better man.

Fetterman’s unequivocal support for the Israeli government no matter what they do was his second tell. He seemed to confuse reasonable criticism of what was obviously genocide as antisemitism. And he foolishness helped draw us into Trump’s war of distraction, started, seemingly, at Bebe’s order.

And now he has helped advance Markwayne Mullen to be the next head of DHS. Mullen has a reputation for being a hothead and a moron, even amongst his own party. It is well earned and has a long history. But Fetterman likes him, and look how good his judgement is.
